About the Study Centre

Centre for Indian Sign Language and Deaf Studies was established by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh and Chair-person of the General Council of Dr. Shakuntala Mishra National Rehabilitation University, Shri. Akhilesh Yadav. This centre is the first of its kind in Asia. The centre is a resolute attempt to bridge the gap between the hearing and the Deaf by providing them an amicable environment for studies and personal growth. The centre with its expert faculty and supportive staff are committed to the cause of Deaf education in Sign Language and facilitate high quality research and project activities to ensure Deaf empowerment. We believe in the need of inclusion of the Deaf community to the mainstream society to accelerate the development of the nation as whole.
